2,000 gifts of $50 to build the future of camp

We're raising 2,000 donations of $50 to remodel the Girls' Dorm and Higgerson House and keep growing our recreation programs.

Why it matters

Keeping VNRC strong for the next generation

Every year our mission stays the same: to make the Virginia Nazarene Retreat Center the absolute best place to meet with God. Staying true to that means we keep improving the grounds.

National statistics show a sobering reality. Without a steady base of giving and continuous campus improvements, Christian camps eventually close their doors. We refuse to let that happen to VNRC.

How the math works

Every $50 is one brick in the wall

Our goal is 2,000 individual gifts of $50, for a total of $100,000. Give at whatever level you can. Every share counts toward the goal.

What your gift builds

Our next wave of improvements

Every gift to the 2000 - 50's Campaign goes toward three projects.

Girls' Dorm

A complete remodel of the Girls' Dorm, giving our campers the same fresh start the Boys' Dorm got this year.

Higgerson House

A complete remodel of Higgerson House so it's ready for the years ahead.

Recreation programs

Continued expansion of our recreation programs, building on this year's zip line, climbing wall, and new games.

This past year

Look what your support already did

We took big steps of faith this year, trusting God would supply the resources. He did not disappoint.

Group dinner at round tables in the Thompson Family Life Center gym

Volunteers setting up a freshly painted bunk bed with a new mattress in the remodeled Boys' Dorm

Kids cheering on a camper at the climbing wall

Gym HVAC

We replaced all three 10-ton HVAC units in the gym. A $77,000 project and a true God thing.

Boys' Dorm

Bunk beds repaired, sanded, and painted, 104 new bedbug-proof mattresses, and a new epoxy floor. Thank you to the staff and volunteers who made it happen.

Zip line and climbing wall

A brand-new 360-foot zip line and rock climbing wall, something our campers have asked for for a long time.

More fun

Gelly Ball under the zip line, an upgraded ax throwing range, and the new Duck Race game, the first of four new games coming to camp.

We also upgraded the tent camping area and refreshed the flower gardens by the Prayer Room and Tabernacle.

The eternal dividend

What God did this year

Camp ministry is alive and well. Lives are being changed on these grounds, and we can't wait to share more of those stories with you in the months to come.
