Getting your kids ready for camp

First time sending a camper? A little excitement and a few nerves are normal for both of you. Here are five simple ways to get ready.

Pray together

Pray with and for your kids that they'll grow in their faith, make new friends, and have a lot of fun.

Bring a friend

A familiar face helps calm the nerves. Invite a friend from class, a team, or church to come along.

Pack a reminder of home

A couple of family photos or a favorite stuffed animal can be a real comfort while they're away.

Talk it through

Ask what they're excited about and what they're nervous about. Naming it makes it easier to handle.

Get excited

Look through camp photos and videos together, and tell them what you loved about camp as a kid.
